Farm Life - Leann's Style

Leann has been practicing organic farming since 2002. She established the first Community Supported Agriculture program in a mid-size college town located an hour away from Chicago. Her maiden name, Landgrebe, which means "soil cultivator" in German, reflects her family's agricultural roots that span four generations. Leann is not only a farmer but also a designer. She worked for seven years at an architectural firm in Chicago while pursuing her passion for interior design. She has combined her love for beauty and happiness and wants to share it with others.

Leann and her husband, Robert, have a strong and loving relationship based on traditional European values. They enjoy cooking meals together and discussing their day. When Robert comes home from work, he pours Leann a glass of wine while making himself a Michelada. Together, they take their dogs, Luna and Vega, for a run on the beautiful rolling fields without a leash. Their dogs are an important part of their family, and they consider themselves a tight pack. After their walk, it's time to relax and enjoy a meal made mostly from local ingredients and produce grown on their farm. Spending quality time together is crucial for their healthy relationship, and they pride themselves on creating delicious and nutritious meals. They also want to share their cooking skills to help others live their best lives.

I want to share with you that Leann's journey to where she is today hasn't been easy. Farming is a demanding and dedicated profession. When Leann first began growing crops on her family's land, she had very little. She borrowed a tractor to till the ground and planted all the crops herself with the assistance of a few kind people. The following season, the borrowed tractor broke down, and she decided to use her own money to purchase a new one. There were moments when drought or heavy rain caused her distress and prevented her from resting.

There was a time when she felt like giving up. She did a lot of soul-searching and wondered how she would be able to continue growing food and providing for her community. That's when she decided to explore her other passion - making candles. She turned to social media and asked her followers about their favorite fragrances, and the response was overwhelming. With no formal training, she started creating products that the community loved. Eventually, she expanded to soap making, skincare, and a home collection line of products. She reinvested every dollar she earned into the next project to grow her business. Today, her product line is sold all over the country and overseas. It was a tough journey, but she persevered and stayed strong. She streamlined tasks and made them more efficient and cost-effective. Her story teaches us to remain strong, surround ourselves with supportive people, and pursue our passions to achieve success.
